Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management

Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management (JIEM) is an open access scientific journal that publishes peer-reviewed articles, which contribute to advance the understanding of phenomena related with all aspects of industrial engineering and management.

JIEM was born in 6 June 2008 as an initiative of Vicenc Fernandez, Pep Simo, Jose M. Sallan and Mihaela Enache, editors of the journal and professors of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain).

The aim of the Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management is to publish theoretical and empirical articles that are aimed to contrast and extend existing theories, and build new theories that contribute to advance the understanding of phenomena related with industrial engineering and management in organizations. JIEM includes contributions, but not limited to, in the following fields:

The contributions adopt confirmatory (quantitative) or explanatory (mainly qualitative) methodological approaches. Theoretical essays that enhance the building or extension of theoretical approaches are also accepted. JIEM selects the articles to be published with a double blind, peer review system, following the practices of good scholarly journals.

JIEM is published six-monthly exclusively on-line, and following an open access policy. On-line publication allows to reduce publishing costs, and to make more agile the process of reviewing and edition. JIEM defends that open access publishing fosters the advance of scientific knowledge, making it available to everyone.
